A thunderstorm damaged 328 houses in nine villages of Chiang Rai’s Khun Tal district on Sunday night, the district chief reported on Monday.

Wutthikorn Khamma, Khun Tal district chief, spoke to reporters after visiting villagers to inspect the damage.

Wutthikorn and Kittikorn Yodkaew, chief of Tambon Ta Administrative Organisation, also handed out necessities to 14 villagers whose houses were the most damaged.

He said the district and Tambon Ta Administrative Organisation also handed out 6,000 roof tiles to affected villagers to repair their homes.

The 37th Army Circle also dispatched 25 troops to help the villagers fix their roofs on Monday.
