May 7, 20197 yr I'm not Swiss, but Switzerland. But iif you are happy with a Thai bank, and the Thai baht, good for you. [emoji846]And you think you can just walk into UBS or Credit Suisse and open an account? Lol. FYI, some accounts pay you a negative interest rate. May 7, 20197 yr But if you ask them, they'll tell you, "My visa only costs 1900 baht." ????????My visa DOES cost me only 1900 baht. I choose to keep over 800k in the banks here (and have done so for years). Sent from my iPad using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Sent from my iPad using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app I have an account with them, and I didn't say all my funds were in a savings or fixed term account. Far from it, actually. They are a bank. They want your money. They put it to work, they give you a portion of what they make from your money, and they keep the rest. Standard procedure. Not like this ridiculous visa system where you put money into a Thai bank to show you can afford to live here, but you can't actually use the money to live on here. Why do you think that is? It's a cheap foreigner loan to Thai banks, and they pay a pittance on the 800k, and why, because they know you are forced to deposit it.
