PATTAYA:--The woman wanted for stealing 40,000 baht from Nong Jubtao Temple was thwarted from doing the same at Najomtien Temple.

The still-unidentified woman – in her mid-20s woman in shorts and a plaid shirt – masqueraded as a snack seller and entered the rectory at the second temple May 3.

She was stopped by Lungta Thonghor Tammateero, 79, who asked what she was doing. She gave him a story that she had come from upcountry to earn money and sold him four bags of “khao mao” before leaving.

Get the wife to do the dirty work... Thai man at it's best!

"Masqueraded as a snack seller".

Surely is that not a spelling error? Should it not read snatch seller?

Why?

I'd never condone theft, but it sounds like this woman is in a very difficult way if the monk's evaluation of her poorness and family situation is correct. Having to provide for and take care of a drunkard husband and two young children can't be easy for her. Hopefully, she can find a way to rid herself of a bad hubby and get some help for her and her kids.
