Bangkok police arrested 43 motorcyclists and seized 26 motorcycles on Friday that were found to have been illegally modified for road racing.

Following the weekly crackdown on road racing, Pol Lt Gen Piya Uthayo, assistant police commissioner general, held a press conference at the Show DC shopping mall’s car park at 11.55pm to announce the results of the operation.

This week, police from the Metropolitan Police Division 1, took charge of the crackdown.

Piya said one of the arrested was under 18 years old and two of the 43 motorcyclists were found to have abused drugs.

Piya said police also checked 47 big-bike motorcycles and found that 16 of them emitted noise louder than the legal limit of 112 decibels. The owners were fined and the use of their big bikes was suspended for 30 days.

If truth is available, just how many of these illegally modified bikes are crushed? What exactly happens to all those bikes? Do Police sell them back to the riders? Just curious, not in the market for a modified bike.

How about a photo op of these bikes being crushed flat by a heavy machine? A plethora of brass could assemble for the festivities.
