Wanted Uzbekistan mama-san arrested in Bangkok along with three prostitutes

Acting Thai immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang announced the arrest of a 62 year old woman from Uzbekistan wanted in her home country on charges of running a prostitution and human trafficking ring. 

 

Sayora Melikova was nabbed at a room on Rama 9 in the Huay Kwang district of Bangkok. 

 

She had been wanted on a red notice issued in Uzbekistan in 2011. 

 

She had been hiding out in Thailand for seven years.

 

Three women willingly working as prostitutes were staying with her.

 

Lt-Gen Sompong said that Melikova will be deported back to Uzbekistan.

 

The fate of the three prostitutes was not mentioned in the INN report.

"Hiding out" is a relative term. Obviously, she was running the same kind of business here in Thailand, with the three women staying with her, that she is accused of running back in her home country....

 

BTW, at least in the past, there was no shortage of Uzbeki night workers in Pattaya...the recent PR sweep notwithstanding.
