Its about half way from both, but I think the walk from Ploenchit is easier.

HI there when we are there we use phloen chit ,you will find you can walk to embassy in about 5 mins.

Ploenchit - then use the walkway to the Wave Building on the corner of Wireless opposite the Embassy - down to the ground floor and out the door on Wireless and its very close to the Embassy side entrance which I am assuming you want.
