Pending total knee replacement surgery any day now (hospital claims they didn't know I had Thai SS insurance in addition to bare bones insurance provided by work so further delays for approval).

I have been reviewing website by a patient in US providing detailed information about his surgery experience from pre-and-post surgery. He was required to have a nasal swab test for MRSA-apparently all California hospitals are required to have this. He tested positive and was told to use mupirocin ointment  before surgery.

Are nasal tests for MRSA conducted in Bangkok pre-surgery for major operations?
