Warning: This story contains mild spoilers for Stranger Things’ third season.

Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has responded to speculation about his character Will Byers’s sexuality.

A scene in the third episode of the current season three, “The Case of the Missing Lifeguard”, sees Finn Wolfhard‘s character, Mike Wheeler, tell Will: ”It’s not my fault you don’t like girls.”

Some have interpreted the line as meaning that Will is gay. Others, such as Wolfhard himself, has suggested that the line might not have been a direct reference to Will’s sexuality, but rather to his supposed immaturity.

Fans of the show have  pointed to other elements that seem to hint at Will’s sexuality, though no official line has been given as of yet.
