Knee doc

Featured Replies

I would like to consult an orthopedic doctor about knee issues. I know there are several recommended in Bkk but as I am staying in Jomtien, I’d like to find a good one in Pattaya. Anyone have any experiences or recommendations for Pattaya?

I was told years ago that I’d probably be needing a knee replacement at some point. My knee is often very swollen and stiff after even moderate activities, and is weaker than my other knee, but so far isn’t excruciatingly painful. Hoping to get some advice as Tom it’s current condition and alternative treatments. Thanks.

I can't suggest anybody in the Pattaya area but in Bangkok, I've been very satisfied with Dr. Somchai Kuptniratsaikul at Bangkok Christian Hospital in Silom.  BCH is an older but very competent hospital with reasonable pricing.

I had similar pain and swelling and had good temporary results with cortisone injections into the knee.  Surprisingly painless and in my case, effective for about 4 to 5 months.  You might also do some research on " Hyaluronic acid" which can be very effective providing temporary relief for some sufferers.

Thanks dddave. I will look into those suggestions.

**PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is another option to research which is administered along with Hyaluronic acid but far from cheap. I have been advised by two doctors to consider this option but still considering.

**PRP. So you are aware I posted here previously seeking information and this is the thread.
