Custom insoles in CM?

Hi 

I suffer from a few probs arising from early Parkinson's. .typing is becoming a bit slow and awkward, but I'm here to help with legs and feet.

 

I recently tried a WALK-ON orthosis in BKK at Otttobock, a German company which should help my limp caused mostly by a drop heel.

They were very good folk there but I am holding off on the orthosis as my shoes weren't ideal and it's a lot of money (29,000) unless I get it right, and unless they order a wider sole pad and I get the right shoes it wont be. First things first is the shoes I'd say.                                                                                                                    But before i left he mentioned my hammertoe, a claw like curling of the smaller toes. also a Parky's symptom. and said this could cause worse problems (it's already a nuisance) in the future. He mentioned an orthotic insole custom made to straighten out the toes etc. In fact he happened to be wearing one for his own foot problem.     I decided this would be a good idea as feet are very important but didn't order as it is also dependent on the right shoes and particularly not squeezing the toes together.   I'm not being mean about the money (4300bt for insole pair), everyone's got to make a living, but would like to get the show on the road and Im asking here if anyone knows a supplier local to CM.                      I would also ask: I've noticed that my poor gait is much improved if i'm in bare feet. I believe there are shoes or sport sandals specially made to keep the foot sole close to the ground. Any expertise among the hill running community or others as I try to still hike and even jog slowly?

I saw an insole vendor at Central Airport mall.  I'm not remembering the exact location though....although he was not actually inside a store but he did have his equipment set up on the walkway in the mall. He's inside.

Maybe others will read this and be able to offer more info about his exact location.

I don't know about the quality, etc, but I was planing to visit again the next time Im there to get more info.  I too have foot problems and have orthotics that I brought with me some years ago but they may need to be replaced.  I wish I had more info for you about the location in the mall.

The insoles I'd need would need to be shaped in 3 dimensions to raise the toes and give a supportive bridge i think.

You think this chap might be up to that?

 

The other thing is if you need orthotic support Ottobock is the number one place, and use carbon fibre for the model shown.......v thin and light.

Update:

 

It turned out my wife who works in the ram hospital has a friend who works in a foot doctors clinic.

I went there for a discussion and we decided A custom insole

might help.

So they took a print of each foot of each foot and a couple of weeks later now I have used the insoles a couple of times. They only fit in my sports shoes but this is where they will see the Most action and where the toes are most uncomfortable, hiking or slow jogging uphill.

Dr. Tanawat showed me how subtle differences in the heights of the sides of the insole combined with the raised arch to fit my foot plus a little rays section in the middle of the ball could make quite a difference.

I’m pleased to say that while not a miracle they have indeed Increase by comfort increased my comfort level.

I’m pleased I got them.

They cost 3000 baht but hey feet are very important

 

We also talked about toe splints to Help straighten the hammer toes. He suggested I was simply order from Amazon and showed me some samples there. I will be able to wear these in my other shoes or presumably in bed.

Tracy this might be useful information for you let me know you saw it, if but if notI will send you a message. Look up Dr. TANAWAT in Chiang Mai and you’ll find details. Any problem I’ll look them up and send you.

That's a relative bargain price for good custom made insoles -- assuming they are well-made of sturdy materials that will last for a while...

I tried the place mentioned earlier at Airport plaza this week. Same floor and close to Uniqlo.

I stood on this glass thing like a weighing machine and the english speaking taiwanese girl took scans from below, getting me to flex knees, stand on outside of insoles etc etc. Then she showed me the computer output on her screen demonstrating that I needed custom made insoles, built up on the inside of my arches.  They make them from carbon fibre while you wit using a thing like a hairdryer.

But 4000 baht. And as I recently bought gel inserts with a similar profile (built up arch) o line for about 180 baht I kept my money in my pocket.

So if budget no problem definitely worth a go.  But if you check alibaba (and maybe lazada) for foot orthotics you may get lucky

the footprints were taken using Ottobock sponge box maybe it was sent to them for manufacture, but cheaper than their normal price.

Nope not like that. Looked more high tech. Place called fix... something I think, and also sell in London etc.

They seems to have a HORRIBLE website... I'm looking and looking throughout tons of stuff there, and can't find anything re custom insoles (though I'm sure they do them....)

yes I’ve used the insoles several times now.

im sure they’re helping......and may help long term deterioration.

 

today I ordered a double toe splint from Amazon too which I’ll be able to wear in other shoes and even in bed I guess
