Joe Mcseismic
Self-respect and appearance have nothing to do with each other. Your appearance is an attempt to influence others and how they perceive you. Nothing wrong with that.

Popular Post 55Jay
Indeed, the slow descent into "I don't give a s**t." I think that's more pronounced with age and even before that, some sense of financial security - when you're done amassing, you have 'enough', and simply don't give a s**t, because you don't need to play the game anymore. So who cares? I'm retired military. Got the lobotomy. But I admit, after the first few years of living in Thailand out in the sticks, my standards slipped a bit. Not entirely, but "a bit", and I got lazy. But not to the extent you (OP) have described. I saw that in others around me, and it made me catch my breath. They had fallen. A bit too much. So yes. Pull yourself up. You don't need to be a model, or get your balls waxed, but keep yourself tidy; at least in public. Also, stay off the booze and beer. That s**t will bring a man down faster than the sunset. Stay clean and tidy. Exercise daily. Keep reading books - whatever - just keep reading and keep your mind active. Oh yeah, travel. Get out of dodge, even if it's to another Thai town. Better, get out of Thailand every year or two, to keep your sanity. Popular Post totally thaied up
I am 6ft tall and 94kg. Due to medications, losing weight has been a never-ending battle. The medications, since they are anti-psychotics not weigh neutral and even with the best of diets and exercise, the weight is hard to move. I do not drink or smoke. I will turn 50 tomorrow. I go for a swim most days, so I gather I bath twice daily. That, in fact, for someone who is bipolar is a pretty good mission statement as most time when I was single, I would forget to bath for days on end, not tooth brush and look god damn awful. Just signs that are part of the sickness. With my wife now, well swimming most days and the fact she likes to bath me in the shower, keeps me clean. I do the dentist thing every six months. In a former life, it was suits and ties for me at all times. When I first came to Thailand, I gave up on dressing well for a few years. Just shorts and tee-shirts. I met my wife and she now has got me to dress back in long-sleeve shirts and tailored pants if I go out at night with her, to the bank or Immigration. If we just hang around home, it is basics but going out, she makes sure I am dressed well and have nice aftershave on. I go to the hairdressers every four days and get a hair wash and massage and get my hair dried. My hair is long, something like Legolas out of Lord of the Rings and very well looked after. Life here is pretty easy and keeping looking good I think is important for my wife. When we went to Australia recently, I had to dress much more upmarket due to my parents and the social life they have. I see a lot of guys here massively over weight and just wonder looking at myself, I do not want to get to that level. I just hope by not drinking and eating half a horse everyday, doing intermittent fasting (16-8),I can keep it together. Not easy to do. elgenon
OP where do you get Brut 33? I have seen missives such as the man who said at home he always wears suits so he would in Pattaya. Anything less would be disgusting. And the man who hated flip flops. Where I come from even rich people wear shorts and flip flops to nice restaurants. Different strokes for different blokes. At minimum, cleanliness is a good start. BTW I personally don't like terms like mansexual, manbuns, etc. Label it and put it in a slot. I think labels like that trivialize things IMHO. Your mileage may vary.

Estonian man dies following attack on Walking Street. A lot of brave guys in Pattaya. Australian man dies after bar fight in Thailand's Pattaya. Norwegian Dies Following Bar Brawl At Central Pattaya Beer Bar. I'm an old guy can't run very fast so I carry 3 deadly weapons at all times in Pattaya. I don't fight fair cause I was in a couple of wars and no one else fought fair. I'm a pussy cat to the Russian mob with their Estonian bosses in Pattaya. The drugs may make you lazier, or hungrier but the same "food in energy out" laws of physics always apply. Newsflash 6' and 95Kg is already massively overweight. I'm 6' and 78Kg, that's me 3Kg overweight, I really don't want to cycle 25Km every morning, but if I don't want to get bigger I have to. Being slim and not having a fat gut is extremely important to me. I would be too ashamed to go out if I looked like a fat slob. I check my nose hairs, eyebrows and ear hair every day. I don't shave every day but I never go more than a couple of days as I don't like to look scruffy. I keep my hair cut very short although to be fair I've not got a full head of hair anymore either. I always try to dress smart and that means always wearing nice shoes like these that I bought recently and are the type of thing I wear on a daily basis. 1
Stevemercer
I take the attitude that everyone likes to see a neatly dressed woman, someone who has put a little effort into her appearance. I guess it is the same with blokes, especially here in Thailand where first impressions really seem to count.
