Police in Samut Sakhon raided three adjoining properties in Mahachai being used as a factory for making krathom tea and a place for krathom parties.

Arrested was Myanmar national Zin Myo Hlaing, 31, on a charge of possessing and distributing a Class 5 drug.

He was brewing up the tea and getting 2,000 to 3,000 baht a day at 50 baht a bottle.

He was selling to Thais and people from Myanmar who came by his property to enjoy the tea.

Taken into evidence were three large tea urns, soda bottles, cough mixture and fresh and powdered krathom leaf, reported Sanook.

Well that was enterprising of them and jolly convenient for the RTP that no Thais were involved in the production.  Guess the Burmese's "Thai friends" had not looked after the RTP well enough, or else wanted better "looking after" themselves or else, the latter coming to pass.
