Rapamycin presciption BKK

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I would really appreciate if you would be kind to recommend a doctor in BKK who would prescribe Rapamycin ? I´m often in BKK for work and always stock up on Metformin from Boots but as Rapa is prescription only I´ll need to visit a doctor.

Thanks a lot, I´ve learned so much from reading the forums here .

If you mean Sirolimus it is available here under brand names Rapamune and Prograf or something like that. Not as Rapamycin.

It is imported and extremely expensive especially given need to get it at a hospital (hospitals mark up drug prices plus you'll have a consultation fee). Not something to buy here to save money if that is the idea...will cost more than in the West.

I can't give any idea as to whether a doctor would prescribe it for you nor on type of doctor to see without first knowing why you are taking it.

Hi Sheryl,

Thanks so much for your reply, greatly appreciated. I was getting Sirolimus/Rapa for longevity purposes, - my doctor won´t prescribe it unfortunately. I was hoping that there would be a generic thai brand. As I visit BKK several times a  year and the weekly dose is only 6mg so don´t need a lot. As I don´t like the idea of buying online, I would prefer to pay the price if I could get a prescription i BKK. Any idea of where to go would be appreciated.

Thanks again, always love reading your advices here

I very, very much doubt any Thai doctor will prescribe it for this  purpose.

It is not even a recognized off label use, the only research to date has been in animals, and the potential adverse effects are significant.
