The algorithms. Stock futures went from 1.5 percent down to .6 percent up on this "news." And that is all Trump cares about. Long term, medium term, short term. The man lies for any and every reason. Even to pump up stock futures. Apparently, the "news" came two minutes before the opening of most European stock exchanges.

Trump is the one who confuses manufacturing with GDP, Obama knows that we have an economy largely based on service jobs.  Trump didn't interpret Obama's remarks, he lied about what Obama said.  You also lied when you posted " when Obama himself said he would need a magic wand to get GDP above 1.5%. "  The video you posted a link to shows that Obama didn't say that.

 

Yes I can read a graph.  Your link shows that GDP growth under the last two years of Obama was comparable to the growth in the first two years of Trump.  Only Obama's growth came with declining annual deficits, and Trump's growth was caused by a significant increase in deficit spending.
