Let’s lighten up : Thai Visa Members?

Most mornings with an espresso and a cigarette- I scroll through the news letter.

Wow - what gloom and doom - TM30 - it’s worse than mentioning Brexit at a dinner party. We are not welcome here?

Going to locate to Cambodia ( good luck with that - the politics there are far far worse than here)

Anyway - I asked Siri to play some Shirley Bassey - and she played amongst other tracks McArthurs Park

So - what  is the totally bonkers lyrics you have listened to?   Just to lighten the day.

Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown,
And things seem hard or tough,
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft,

And you feel that you've had quite enough ...

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth;
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere out in space,
'Cause there's <deleted> all down here on Earth!

How can I be expected to lighten up when I feel so neglected, I mean I've never been denied or even 'nearly denied' entry at either land or air ports. Not once have I been asked for any illicit payment at any of the scores of checkpoints that I've been stopped at or waved through; what's worse is that I usually get a smile returned as I'm waved through and only once has a policeman talked abruptly to me in nearly ten years.

Why do I always have to be charged the same price as Thais when I go shopping or eating out, don't these people realise that I'm only here to be ripped off daily or in some cases hourly?

How is it that my wife's family's buffalo has such a strong constitution, resulting in it never requiring urgent, expensive medical attention? Actualy I'm not sure that they even have a buffalo. Which is worse, having a sick one or none at all?

Why does it have to be my wife that treats me well (sometimes better than I deserve) and has no mysterious 'brothers', 'cousins' or 'friends' that she has to visit in the evenings.

I spend all of my waking hours fretting about how I'm missing out on the 'normal' Thai experiences for a Farang that the chances of me lightening up are slim to none, I'm afraid.

post of '19 so far for me, thanks   ????

Great story !   I can not make the same claims as I have had the full Thai experience.  All ups and downs of it.  No regrets.  Finally reached a certain age and maturity,  changed my name to Rumak  and what do you know...... life indeed has lightened up .   Many here are still in the middle of the journey and I can understand their aches and pains.  And of course read about them while I have my coffee.

That was great music and more of it should be played. ????????????

The old time radio show "Pete Kelly's Blues" played a lot of similar music.

Jack Webb was a real aficionado, and used the show to showcase the music.

Appreciate the exposure to this great band.
