Huge drugs busts announced by Thai police

Deputy national police chief Pol Gen Chalermkiat Srivorakhan announced the arrest of two suspects in two big drug busts. 

 

Heroin weighing 100 kilograms and one and a half kilos of cocaine was seized. 

 

He was speaking at Crime Suppression Division HQ in Bangkok. 

 

In a long article Naew Na took the opportunity to mention the names of literally dozens of officers and departments and advise the public of phone numbers and applications that they could use to help police in the fight against crime. 

 

There were few other details. 

 

Thaivisa notes that media Naew Na is acting as a virtual mouthpiece of the RTP.

What they find is probably only the tip of the iceberg, and it would only be mules arrested, rarely kingpins. Plus, the deterrent may only be a couple of years in jail if you have the right connections.

Any significant bust, resulting in a scarcity  leads to prices going up, leading to increased profit margins, leading to more people dealing  leading to more drugs in circulation, leading to more police actions leasing to.....

The pattern is very well described by  William Burrows in his introduction to his novel: 'The Naked Lunch'. 1967.

You may have forgotten to add crime going up so drug users have the money to afford the higher priced drugs.

 That is not part of the formula I am referring to. The formula demonstrates how police actions lead to the expansion of drug markets, dealers and users. This has been demonstrated in the UK since in 65 the socialist Labour party tighten up the drug laws and empowered the drug squad....as disaster...and Portugal where ALL drug have been decriminalised leading to a reduction in drug use and all the other negative impacts of criminalization.

I saw the same bag as the cop is holding up and this one in the picture. You can get them at MAKRO stores nation wide. Wonder what else MAKRO sells?
