Scary! Myanmar man gets a wire in his mouth!

A shocking picture on the 77kaoded site showed a man from Myanmar in hospital in Chonburi with a long wire in his mouth.

The wire was 1.2 meters long and 20 millimeters in diameter. It had pierced his lip and exited through his cheek.

The accident happened while the worker was making cement walls at a company in Ban Bung.

Rescue workers said that he had entered a dangerous area when he should have walked round.

The wire was part of the manufacturing process for the wall and the worker had been negligent, the report said.

The 31 year old worker named only as "A" was treated at Ban Bung Hospital for his serious injury.

That’s at wire ??????

The absence of even the most simplified HSE standards in Thailand makes for elevated risks to us all, be it walking down the pavement, at a resort or on the roads. I imagine the building sites take this absence of HSE to another level.

Hope the guy is ok, based on the reports it does appear he ‘cut a corner’ - he’s lucky the rebar didn’t take his head off.

No mention of how it pierced his lip then exited?

"Rescue workers said that he had entered a dangerous area when he should have walked round. " How does that explain anything?

Damn! Always something there to amaze me!

Looks like a wound steel cable? Wasn't attached right/overloaded and whipped out?

Anyway, pretty much normal in construction here, always somebody going cowboy and getting hurt. Doesn't matter if somebody tries to tell them, they just don't put any value on safety.

If you have eyes its always going to be your fault like a visitor I had here years ago who fell down a hole in the pavement it was her fault should have seen it case closed????

It was an exposed end of a wire that he walked into.... does that help?"

Safety in Thailand seems to be almost non existent, lack of safety helmets, goggles, footwear, gloves.  Especially from my observations of manufacturing and construction, not to mention cords stretched across walkways and floors in workplaces.

If that is the case,he must have been on a motor bike,or at

least running extremely fast.
