What's New in Firefox 2.0.0.3

* Release Date: March 20, 2007

* Security Update: The following list of security issues have been fixed.

* Website Compatibility: Fixed various web compatibility regressions.

* New Languages: Beta releases for several new languages are now available for testing.

* Permissions Bug Fixed: In the German (de) locale on Windows and Linux, resolved a problem with certain files

* tagged as read-only.

Fixed in Firefox 2.0.0.3

* MFSA 2007-11 FTP PASV port-scanning

Impact key:

* Critical: Vulnerability can be used to run attacker code and install software, requiring no user interaction beyond normal browsing.

* High: Vulnerability can be used to gather sensitive data from sites in other windows or inject data or code into those sites, requiring no more than normal browsing actions.

* Moderate: Vulnerabilities that would otherwise be High or Critical except they only work in uncommon non-default configurations or require the user to perform complicated and/or unlikely steps.

* Low: Minor security vulnerabilities such as Denial of Service attacks, minor data leaks, or spoofs. (Undetectable spoofs of SSL indicia would have "High" impact because those are generally used to steal sensitive data intended for other sites.)

So far so good, Firefox/2.0.0.2 is working very well for me, It just download the .03 up date this morning, the plug in's seem to install now and I no longer get the error message telling me to enable the 'allow installation' tag in the tools menu. It's also got a spell checker which works inside here :o

2.02 was bad enough for me that i went back to 2.0 .. :o problem occurred when multiple programs were open & many tabs

unusual for FF :D to have 2 releases so quickly ..

i guess FF didn't lock it 'stalled' :D

question: any extensions that have the 'find' bar on top all the time? I use the 'find' tool multiple times per day as I scan news & postings for what I am looking for

the spell checker has been in FF since 2.0

answer? Open FF and press ctrl+F which opens find bar. Should then remain open in new tabs and new spawned windows as well. Probably is a better way in chrome but don't know it off hand.

Why not give the generic URL for the new version rather than just the one for "Friends of Bill G."?

All languages and OS options for Firefox 2.0.0.3 are here:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

Hi Thai-Spy,

Those links are for Firefox 2.0.0.2 mate not 2.0.0.3. Thanks for the links to other OS's though......shame on you george! Not everyone uses the big W :o

Cheers

Jimmy

Jimmy, refresh your browser or dump your cache. 2.0.0.3 is there. (Unless, maybe, the site detects your system or browser language which may not be be en-US and there isn't a 2.0.0.3 for it yet, so you're sent to the latest version for your language which may be 2.0.0.2).

Hi Mate,

Yeah I have done all of the above and my language is en-US but I'm in Linux so I don't know if that's making a difference? Maybe there's something I'm not doing right (total n00b with Linux) so I'll try the above again and see how I go. Sorry for the misinformation then to everyone as well and apologies to you Thai-Spy for my incorrect post!

Cheers

Jimmy

P.S. George, nice one mate :D
