Flying on Delta from the US with an Acoustic Guitar Carry On

Has anyone had any problems flying Delta from the USA to Thailand carrying an acoustic Guitar in a Gig Bag? I have successfully flown to many places with a guitar as a carry on but it has been a long time am a bit nervous about it this time. Please no suggestions about checking the guitar etc. I am just curious if anyone has had any troubles with Delta (or their foreign partners) concerning guitar carry on. I will be flying Richmond, VA- Detroit- Seoul - Phuket. Thanks!

I flew with one very recently, with Etihad, but was refused as carry on, only check in allowed.

StevenL,  Was the guitar that Etihad made you check in a Hardshell Case or a Soft case/Gig bag?  also, was Etihad a partner w Delta (was it a Delta flight originally)? Thanks!

It was oversized, becoming more and more an issue with airlines. Soft case, no Delta.
