However, I was raised and went to school in a Yorkshire pit village. My father was openly referred to as "the dirty foreigner" and I was refered to, at school, as "the son of the dirty foreigner". The most racist people I've ever come across. They eventually drove us out and the family returned to Lancashire, where we never again were subject to racist abuse.

So are you from Lancaster or are you really a dirty foreigner?

In the UK I mean, not here. We're all mucky here.

I was born in Lancaster. My father was born in Spain. His mother was German and he looked very Teutonic. Fair hair, square jaw and steel blue eyes. Had a strong but hard to define accent. At the time he was classified as a stateless person, despite having served in the parachute regiment in WW2 and subsequently as part of the peacekeeking mission to Palestine. Despite having been demobed less than 10 years earlier, he was referred to as a "dirty foreigner" by our Yorkshire neighbours.

So U.K. better order a few more vessels than the 3 who are now maintaining the fishery  control ….????

Holland, Spain and the others better start getting ready to pay more for their fish or do without.

3 vessels is enough when they start blasting them out the water. The message will get home.

Japan and EU sign deal in riposte to China’s Belt and Road

Ambitious plan aimed at building infrastructure and setting development standards worldwide

Michael Peel in Brussels yesterday

The EU and Japan have signed an ambitious deal to build infrastructure and set development standards in joint projects around the world, in a riposte to China’s far-reaching Belt and Road Initiative. The so-called connectivity partnership will cover sectors from transport to digital industries as part of a wider effort to revive multilateral co-operation in the face of the US withdrawal from international agreements such as the Iran nuclear deal and the Paris climate change accord.

The agreement was signed in Brussels on Friday by Shinzo Abe, Japan’s prime minister, and Jean-Claude Juncker, European Commission president. It dovetails with EU plans to deploy €60bn to leverage investments of many times that value to improve ties between Europe and Asia.

I thought you were leaving it. Obviously you know  or if not should that you can't make any deals until you leave your precious, protectionist EU.

Come back after the UK has left the EU and you will get a better answer. Got it Mr. David ha ha ha

Anyway going to watch the Irish smash Japan in the Rugby.

So are you saying that these arguements are the reserve of the Brexiteers, because if you are you are so wrong.

These are the real fascists.

To be wrong I would have had to say something that was wrong, now tell me what I actually said rather than your distorted interpretation.

I have to assume from your comment that you are if fact proud that MPs have to live in fear of their well being.

You are just stating leavers, when we all know that flak is coming from both sides, more from the remainers if anything.

And please don't put words into my mouth or twist what I have said as per usual.

This was my post

"The reality of the divided brexit Britain, hardly something to be proud of."

You said I was wrong so you must be proud.

If you are going to comment on what I say, address what I say, not something else.

That was not your first post on the subject, and all of them pointing out leavers, none mentioning remainers, you are clearly trying to blame the leavers for all this bickering that is going on, if Brexit had been delivered I am pretty sure that we would all be living happy and content lives by now, and not trying to point score by finding isolated cases on the internet. This is another pointless post that you posted, is there any rhyme or reason to it, I can find hundreds of remainers on the internet saying some disgusting things, but what good would it do reposting them, none.

And this is the direction the divisive language on brexit has created.

A serving British Army soldier is under investigation after abusing an MP and threatening “civil war” over Brexit.

Daniel Goshawk called Labour’s Angela Rayner a “stupid b****”, adding: “C***s like you will perish when civil war comes and it’s coming. 17.4 million people are gunning for blood if we don’t leave.”

A far-right activist and Brexit supporter has been jailed for inciting racial hatred at a series of marches where he branded immigrants and refugees as rapists.

William “Billy” Charlton spoke alongside Tommy Robinson at one of the Sunderland rallies, which were linked to an attack on two Asian men, vandalism and other hate crimes in the area.

Yorkshire pit villages are famed for their blunt honesty.

They call a spade a spade, unless it’s a shovel.

Calls for inquiry into claims Johnson backers benefit from no-deal Brexit

Cabinet secretary urged to look into conflict of interest fears raised by Philip Hammond and Rachel Johnson

The UK’s most senior civil servant is under pressure to investigate Boris Johnson’s financial backers following cross-party claims that unnamed individuals stand to benefit from the prime minister’s willingness to pursue a no-deal Brexit.

John McDonnell, the shadow chancellor, has written to the cabinet secretary, Sir Mark Sedwill, asking if there may be a conflict of interest in Johnson’s acceptance of support from hedge funds that could gain from an economic shock.

Earlier on Saturday, Philip Hammond, the former chancellor, suggested Johnson was pursuing the interests of financial backers set to gain from a no-deal Brexit, in a major escalation of tensions in the prime minister’s own party.Hammond said he was repeating a comment made last week by Rachel Johnson, the prime minister’s sister.
