Trump to Canada: “It will cost you $61 billion, but zero if you become 51st state”
I am wondering if 3 mass shootings in 30 years in a country with a 25m population is better or worse than the American situation? You need to add in deaths/injuries from nutcases that used other weapons like cars and blades. Who exactly has attained a new level of posting stupidity? Rich coming from one if the most notorious conspiracy theorists on the forum. -

Three U.S. ex-presidents denounce the current one in a two-week stretch
1) The taxpayer pays payroll taxes matched by the employer. 2) The excess is spent in the general fund, and the Department of SS is given Special T bills. 3). When the Special T bills are redeemed, the taxpayer has to pay again, or the federal government borrows money to pay back the Department of SS, which adds to the debt and deficit, another expense to the taxpayer. 4). The taxpayer pays the interest earned on the special Tbills. Or the money is borrowed by the feds, which adds to the debt and deficit, another expense to the taxpayer. 5) Then, the taxpayer can end up paying taxes on 85% of the SS payments received. -

Report Philippines Braces for Rainy Season as Southwest Monsoon Returns
File photo for reference only The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has confirmed the return of the southwest monsoon, commonly known as "habagat," as of Friday, May 30. This development signals the potential onset of the rainy season within the next two weeks. PAGASA's recent weather analysis identified consistent southwesterly winds over Luzon's western section and a frontal system over extreme Northern Luzon. This shift, coupled with the weakening of the easterlies, marks the beginning of the southwest monsoon—a key indicator for the rainy season. To officially declare the start of the rainy season, the southwest monsoon must dominate and produce at least 25 mm of rain for five consecutive days across seven monitoring stations in western Luzon. As the habagat strengthens, frequent rains and thunderstorms are expected, particularly in the country's western areas. However, PAGASA warns that the rainy season may still feature "monsoon breaks," or temporary lulls in rainfall. Residents are advised to remain alert as the weather changes, preparing for increased rainfall and potential thunderstorms in the weeks ahead. PAGASA's updates and warnings will be crucial for navigating the dynamic conditions brought by the returning monsoon. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Manila Bulletin 2025-05-30 -

The saga of Yingluck Shinawatra’s rice pledging legal battle has taken a dramatic turn, as her brother and former prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, throws his weight personal fortune behind her in front of her smoothing the path with gobs of money in a bid for a retrial. Fixed it. -

Beating children
Yeah actually in retrospect that was not a fair statement as I have never even been there. But clearly if child-beating still takes place, it's a problem. But then again, does child-beating take place in Bangkok too? I don't know. But not fair of me to judge an entire place I've never even been to.- 1
