Economy Political Jitters and Falling Numbers Shake Thailand’s Tourism Recovery
I spent 3.5 months there last summer. Having a bank account made it much easier to transfer money, gave me access to "scan to pay" and Bangkok Bank has cardless withdrawals so I didn't have to carry my debit card. There's also the fact that I already had a bank account that was working fine. If you want to accuse me of money laundering, there are the Thai defamation laws. Do you want to run into that kind of criminal trouble? Also, there are countries where I can easily open a bank account, I know someone who has an account in Mexico. It's really handy for taking advantages of exchange rate variations. -

US Pushes Forward with Private Aid Plan for Gaza Amid UN Opposition
Describing the GHF distribution sites, Aitor Zabalgogeaskoa, the Gaza emergency coordinator at Médecins Sans Frontières, said: The four distribution sites, all located in areas under the full control of Israeli forces after people had been forcibly displaced from there, are the size of football fields surrounded by watch points, mounds of earth and barbed wire. The fenced entrance gives only one access point in or out. GHF workers drop the pallets and the boxes of food and open the fences, allowing thousands in all at once to fight down to the last grain of rice. If people arrive early and approach the checkpoints, they get shot. If they arrive on time, but there is an overflow and they jump over the mounds and the wires, they get shot. If they arrive late, they shouldn’t be there because it is an ‘evacuated zone’, they get shot. Israeli-US food distribution scheme in Gaza is ‘slaughter masquerading as aid’ says MSF – Middle East crisis live . -

Rule change at Jomtien immigration for extensions by condo owners
Yup. Heavy handed regulations only disadvantage the law abiding and the conscientious, but scammers and criminals will go through the back door, which has not been shut. So, lose-lose. -
