Didn't the report say it was for internal flights as no fuel tax is charged on international flights.

But still true for those who live on Pound, Dollar, Euro.. and want to fly domestic?

Lowering aviation fuel tax? Lower price for domestic flights?

What a contrast to climate panic countries where the exact opposite is in preparation.

Don't tell Greta

Rice down

Rubber down

EEC flailing

Tourism down

National Flag carrier near bankruptcy

Currency manipulation watchlist

Chinese buddies can't help now

Education system a massive problem

Household debt too high

SRT no money to pay Hopewell

Lovely, and well-deserved

Beautifully written..... For a troll.

But only going to hurt the people not those who have the power to make the changes required to correct it.

Not a troll.

Just someone who deeply hates incompetent, arrogant culture and is deeply pleased when maintainers of such a culture finally must pay the price.

I am sure that part of you 'loving the wheels fall off' will be watching the human cost of this.  To say that Thai culture is arrogant is just plain untrue.

Some urgent steps for tourism

- 1 US$ = 40 THB

- lower the price of the barstool hookers entertainers, with a price fixed

- clean up Pattaya of all the scum and trouble makers, anybody bullying or fighting is OUT and banned

- make all the retailers in the malls slash their prices by 20% by law

- force all the drunks to quit - by taxing booze at far higher rates

- stop the joke and abolish the TM forms

- abolish dual pricing

- give tourists (people staying not more then a month)  50% discount on all public transport, including taxis

- stop giving so much power to the immigration officer behind his desk

- severly punish any official trying to racket to extort money from a foreigner

- provide proper soapys at Suvarnabhumi airport - both on Arrival and Departure

- severly punish any Taxi-TuktUk refusing the meter or refusing a ride

...... and tourism will soar, overnight ! :welcomeani:

You forget air quality and the plastic dirt in the sea.

Seeing that it only gets worse I don't believe that they will be able to fix this.

Thais that can afford to fly domestically will still do so but it isn't going to attract the masses....they travel 12 to a pick up, park on the beach with their Hong Thong and booming music...won't make a jot to domestic travel whatsoever.

Pipat added that the demand for airport slots is another problem that needs immediate attention, especially at Suvarnabhumi, Don Muang, Phuket and Chiang Mai, which have clustered flights all year long.

“We are planning to talk to airlines in an attempt to persuade them to disperse their flights to less crowded airports such as Hat Yai, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai and Surat Thani,”

Would you be so kind as to fly from Bangkok to Surat-Thani then take a bus to Krabi.. it would help to smooth things out enormously, and we wouldn't have to come up with a long term solution!
