Hello please share your experiences and suggestions on buying prescriptions glasses in Thailand .

If possible, indicate recommended locations where to shop for prescription eyeglasses.

I always buy mine mail order from Zenni Optical, a fraction of the price in Thailand.

For progressive $50 Vs 8,000bht.

Usually arrive within 14 days of ordering.

As said most have found mail order from Zenni to be easy and cost effective.  For eye check use a hospital opthamologist which is not expensive and obtain prescription. 

 

Good optometrists are few as it is a new profession here and the chains seem to be more concerned with upselling than customer satisfaction.  But if you advise location expect some members can recommend a local source if you are adverse to ordering by mail.
