PHUKET: Tourists travelling in a small truck converted to carry people in the back escaped serious injury on Saturday afternoon (Nov 9) as one of the front wheels “failed”, sending the pickup truck into a roadside ditch on the road to Paradise Beach, south of Patong.

Exim Thailand cuts interest rates

Korat police officer in Krathong copyright controversy transferred

A police superintendent in Thailand’s north-eastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima has been temporarily transferred for his involvement in a sting operation in which a 15-year old girl was arrested and fined 5,000 baht for alleged copyright infringement.

Health ministry to provide blood pressure monitors in public places, promoting self-care

BANGKOK(NNT) - It is estimated some 13 million Thai people have hypertension, and almost half of these are unaware of their condition, which leads to other complications. In a preventive effort, the Ministry of Public Health has joined hands with related agencies to place 100 automatic blood pressure monitors in public places, allowing the general public to measure their own blood pressure and to monitor risks to their health by themselves.

Bangkok prepares safety measures for Loy Krathong festival
