Electric pie maker

Featured Replies

Has anybody seen pie makers for sale in Thailand.

I miss a meat pie and to get a frozen one is a 250 km round trip.

Would like to make my own.

  • As it's nearly Xmas, and encouraged by this thread, I just made mince pies. Mix and roll out the pastry, big glass to cut for the base. Smaller glass to cut the tops, bit of milk for glue.

  • Pie dish and oven is cheaper, and takes up less cupboard space when you never make them again.

  • I use my sandwich maker a lot, usually in bed at night!  And she doesn't need any appliance.  LOL

And for those, like me who wondered what the flip FJ was on about:-

And now I want one!

You still have to do all the usual work of making pies.

It doesn't mix the pastry, roll it out or mix and cook the filling.

It's just a gimmick, like the 'George Foreman' grill.

As a lover of the larger pie I could be tempted...

Every time I see them I um and ah about buying one, this topic has made me not only hungry but think perhaps I should get one. Can get a family sized piemaker in Oz for just under 600 Bht so if novelty wears off after a couple of uses no big deal.

And it will end up with the sandwich maker, and the bread maker.

Our bread maker is in the cupboard but the sandwich maker is my most used appliance.

Or in my case; "And it will end up alongside the sandwich maker, the bread maker, the coffee machine, the juice press, the mixer and the waffle maker in the cupboard gathering dust."

That's what I meant, together with the Hoover which is also in the cupboard gathering dust.    LOL

Do you not need the breadmaker to make the bread to make the sandwiches to cook in the sandwich maker?

Just edited after checking the cupboard to see what I'd missed off the list 555

On the plus side, in your case, Hoovers are supposed to collect dust ????

Really?   LOL   I was actually quoting Tim Vine's winning one-liner in 2017.

I've put my Hoover on eBay, it was only stuck in the cupboard gathering dust.   BooBoom.

555 never heard that one before.

Sorry OP, we're drifting a tadge OT. Hope you find someplace close to get one from.

I buy stuff from all over the world using my Thai debit card.

Never any problems.

Use my bread machine 2-3x a week, perfect bread every time.

I also make pizza dough and yogurt in it.

Oi think the Horse-trylians pronounce it 'Poy' as an observation.

Look all right, but will the mincemeat filling I made last year poison me?

I will be fine, possibly taste even better (xmas pud and cake do).

I can recommend a strong solution of washing-soda (sodium carbonate or soda ash) to clean out the baked on stuff on your oven. Get it from your pool chemicals supplier. Wear your Marrigolds (rubber gloves).

Sodium hydroxide (lye or drain cleaner) is even better but may dissolve the oven.
