Easy for immigration! Blacklisted Ghanaian with new passport comes to them

Naew Na reported that a blacklisted Ghananian turned up at immigration to review his visa.

But it was discovered that Gabriel Opoku Ware was not who he said he was.

He was found to have entered Thailand on a new passport under a new name after he was blacklisted for being on overstay.

He had managed to get back into the country. Naew Na did not mention biometrics on this occasion, notes Thaivisa.

But they quoted Pol Col Thatchapong Sarawanangkun as saying that people extending their visas must be in possession of all the necessary and legal paperwork - including a valid passport.

If not they will be discovered.

He asked the public to contact the immigration website with tips about those breaking the law.

Would "those" include corrupt IOs who receive brown envelopes from 'agents' to ignore the mandatory requirements?

Sure. They are interested in each other´s businesses and monitor that all revenues get shared evenly.

Is blacklist really the correct word in this case ?

Well, here is a tricky one!,

His passport was in order as far as entry regulations go.

We now have a number of options here:-

1. Did he get stamped in without biometrics at a land border?

2.Did biometrics fail to pick up his new identity and match it to his old one?

3.Did biometrics not find and associate him with his previous identity, and Thai Immigration won't admit it.?

4.Are there any countries left around the world using old type passports that biometrics cannot match up?

5. Did he enter on a Ghanaian passport? as these are biometric!

6. Are any of these female IO's ex-girlfriends?????????

footnote:-

Recent developments. To conform to the recommended standards (i.e., size, composition, layout, technology) set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Ghana has issued biometric passports as standard since March 2010, though existing non-biometric passports were valid until November 2015.

Point 4. Even the countries issuing biometric passport are sometimes quite limited:

Currently, the British and Irish biometric passports only use a digital image and not fingerprinting.

OK,

Then I am wondering how they can get you into the Thai biometrics system?

It's a question not a statement.

I'll find out the next time I leave the country!
