My wife's relative died 18 months ago and she was left sole beneficiary to his estate.
Her lawyer I feel is hesitating, stalling but she continues to support him, saying he is a good person.

I hope things work out but if it doesn't would someone have contact details for support or government unit that we could approach to investigate / due diligence on this law firm if things don't go to plan. 

 

A Lawyer.....saying he is a good person. I would not trust 

any of them,that's from experience.

The longer he drags things out ,the more he is going to charge.

You can ask the Lawyers Council of Thailand to look in to the practice of said lawyer but you need to provide them with substantiated proofs of misconduct, maleffences, or derlic of duties while providing service or console to your missus, but even then i will not hold much hope there...
