3M Filtrete for filtering aircon

There's a few people on here using the 3M Filtrete. Thinking about getting one myself for a wall-mounted split system aircon. Is it best to get the 3M Filtrete Roll 15X96 Inch and just cut it to size? Eg: https://www.homepro.co.th/p/231799 More bang for buck this way?

The people who use it, do you only install it inside your split system aircon or also outside where the big fan is? (The one sitting on the balcony).

I buy the large roll and cut to size, just do the inside air handler be pointless doing outside, you want to filter the air in the room not outside.
