Popular Post Chivas Posted November 30, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 30, 2019 (edited) Make no mistake there will be no high season. Its the quitest I had ever seen recently..... Its been coming a long time and theres no way back from this. Theres a myriad of reasons for the issues but the strength of the Baht against the benchmark USD and on the other side of the currency pairings our own countries currency weakness against that same USD is exacerbating the problem Put simply people have had enough. In the interim millions flock to Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines where better "value" can be found. As someone who was on his 170th trip I'm close to calling it a day...something I thought I'd never say Edited November 30, 2019 by Chivas 6 2

Popular Post newnative Posted November 30, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 30, 2019 Lawd! Not ANOTHER Pattaya is Dead thread! Haven't we already had our Pattaya is Dead thread for 2019? Or several of them? Is it now a monthly thing? I know it's been an annual thing and I've been reading about Pattaya's imminent death since I arrived in 2010. So, I'm here to say DIE ALREADY! I'm tired of being stuck in massive traffic jams everywhere I travel. How can a dying city have so much traffic?! I'm tired of not being able to go to Central Festival on the weekend. I thought Terminal 21 was suppose to kill Central Festival but, like Pattaya, Festival has been really too slow to die. Die already so I can go again on weekends. Or Terminal 21 on a weekend, too. I'm tired of all the crowds of people walking in the streets and slowing traffic. Here in Wong Amat it's a slow slog dodging around all the hordes of families with young kids in tow, some in STROLLERS! Just die already so the streets will once again be reserved for cars. I'm tired of all the new construction everywhere you look--and all the mess of construction. And, now, yet another massive project--Centre Point 2--will be going up on the exact road I use to get to Pattaya Beach Road. Again, how many fancy new hotels and condos does a dying Pattaya need? Enough already! Please die already! 2 1

Source is impeccable though am very surprised if even remotely accurate. We'll see on this one.... 2

The city of Pattya is a joke known for low quality sexpat farangs' heaven for finding a bride thirty years younger to them. It is an adult Disley land for sexpat farangs. The things they can do in Thailand with a crane operator or a high school educated factory worker's salary in the West, farangs could never do with their entire family's income in the West. I wanted to remind Thailand why farangs come to Thailand. They don't come to Thailand for its temples, food, arts and cultute. They only come for sex. In my open letter to thailand, I challeged Thailand to name another country where farangs have married to more sex workers than Thailand and also challeged Thailand to name a country that has solved its poverty by pimping nations' daughters to farangs in marrage. In coming months, I'm publishing more open letters to Thailand to expose how not to become a heaven for sexpat farangs and a bride mill for older farangs. What a load of rubbish. My bride is only 23 years younger! 2

Quite depricating to make fun of their English pronounciation skills. A motorcycle taxi is a "win" in Thai. Motorcycle is "rod cacryan yun". Terminal 21 and Central Festival do not a Pattaya make. There are thousands of small businesses out there and there are not enough tourists to support them. That is the reality. Supply and demand. That's all it comes down to. Pattaya will end up with the number of small and large businesses that it can support selling 'X' products--be it massages, laundry services, food, bars, sex, or whatever. The tourist demographic is changing and there are now fewer Western tourists--which means demand for Western-style bars is less, which means some of these bars may close. When people no longer needed buggy whips--having moved on to Model Ts--buggy whip sellers had to move on, too--to another type of job. Sad, yes, but that's life and some Pattaya workers may have to do a different job as supply and demand and the changing demographics adjusts the mix of shops and businesses. A beer bar closed, but an Audi car dealership opened. A massage shop went under, but Jomtien Hospital will soon open--creating lots of new jobs. And, so it goes. I used to live near one of the busiest malls in America, in one of the richest counties in America. Tremendous foot traffic with very affluent shoppers. Yet, even in this mall there were stores that didn't make it--there were not enough shoppers for what they were selling and/or there were already enough shops for this product. Supply and demand.
