Tanawat Wongchai

Pro-democracy and anti-military activist Tanawat Wongchai, who has started the “Run Against Dictator” campaign, has posted a message on social media saying he has been chosen for an honorary award for supporting democracy by Wisutthisan Na-ngern, former permanent secretary of the Defence Ministry.

He posted a message together with a picture on November 30 on his social media platform.

Giving more details of the campaign, he said theme shirts will be sold and  registration will open in the next few days.

Tanawat explained that he had chosen to hold the running event on January 12 because it is a Sunday, so many people can be free to participate.

Regarding some concern that people may mistake “Run Against Dictator” with other events, Tanawat explained that various running events take place on that day but “Run Against Dictator” will be held in a specific location so that people won’t get confused.

Help! I am confused. Person in OP appears to be female yet the article says "he".

I've read it 3 times, studied the picture, cleaned my glasses.

And yes, I know TIT.

Can anybody clarify please?

Sit down somewhere quietly and slowly zoom in to clarify.

Zoom out as quick as you like.

The trophy looks appropriate, if she gets to win it next year she'll have  a pair of balls!

I'd stay away from that trophy. They probably put a bomb in it to blow it up.

This campaign remember me The Hundred Flowers Campaign of Mao Zedong in China. A window open for intellectuals to express openly their opinions of the regime, but after this brief period of liberalization, Mao cracked down on those who criticized the regime.

Identifying them, classifying them, recognizing these supporters will be even easier thanks to facial recognition and those t-shirts.
