"Some cancers are more prevalent in Thais than Westerners - these include liver, brain and throat cancer."

Constant burning particularly of plastics, use of cancer giving pesticides. Enough said. Nothing to do with being Thai.

Sugar Is the number one killer in Thailand.Thais are addicted to sugar. Even in savoury cooked dishes sugar is added along with cillis. Sugar according to the link below is the main food for cancer.

The linked between sugar and cancer is part of Alternative Medicine folklore but actual medical researchers seem to not be on board with that, or at least say that the folklore is it's grossly oversimplified.

You need to look at the position the government creates for the farming community. Cancer uk has been going for over 100 yrs with millions and millions of pounds donated yet they still haven't found a cure????????? Imagine the money governments of the world would lose if they found a cure, CANCER IS AN INDUSTRY!

Isn’t it something to do with all of the fermented fish and crab they use ?

That is interesting….????

Brain cancer from a favourite Thai pastime: Deep nose picking with dirty fingernails....????!

You can measure and spread your results as much as you want, it will not change anything.
Because nobody here is interested in anything you tell.

Curious that cervical cancer was not mentioned. Has anyone heard elsewhere about the cervical cancer prevalence in Thailand? Some countries are considering national immunization programs against HPV. One would think Thailand may be a country in which HPV communication would be er... high. Or perhaps this something like the 16 AIDS cases in Thailand that PM Prem would admit to back in the mid-80's.

I've just befriended a Thai woman who is in her late 30's. She's just had radical surgery for cervical cancer, so I am curious if there is a higher incidence or not. One would think the incidence would be higher than in other countries.

Its a very sad statistic but no doubt some TV contributors will twist the report to say hurtful things about Thais and Thailand..Probably blame them for getting sick..even the kids!
