My visa platinum will not work on Bangkok air online.

Hi, I’ve tried a few times, and Bangkok air will not register my card number and security number. I have booked with them before but with another card. The numbers come up on the payment form, the 4 digits security disappear, and I get a red warning I’ve forgotten to put in the code . Ok. My WiFi is not too good, but has never been a problem before booking online hotels etc. Is the WiFi connection the problem ? The card is good elsewhere. I can go to a travel agent I use and book there, will I benefit from all the same advantages of Platinum at a  travel agency  , 

(  travel insurance  Etc) ? Sorry if I sound stupid but I always use my cards successfully in Thailand. I’m in Jomtien.

Contact your bank in case there is a problem with the Card

Security codes are normally 3 digits, printed on the back of the card.

I have a Bangkok Platinum and it is only 3 digits.

On my HSBC card there is 4 digits then a space then 3 digits. I only need to use the 3 digits.

Wow, mine has 4, it’s a French bank. I’ve already used it shopping .

Could be only 3 things 

1. they do not accept non thai issued cards

2. they do not ac wit platinum cards because of higher fees by the bank 
3. all of the above 

 

I believe it’s number 1, very common for Thai merchants not to accept non Thai credit cards for fear of fraud

Where was your card issued?  USA issued American Express Platinum card typically requires the 4 digit code on the front of the card.  As noted Visa cards require 3 digits from the back of the card.

I saw Bangkok , Visa and Platinum.

Got it mixed I'm afraid.
