Hi all,

ive just tried to log onto the VAC website with the usual adress www.ukvac-th.com but the site seems to have dissapeared. now VFS site comes up instead and it says that you must be some sort of a diplomat and a member to access the site. i really dont know what is going on. I wanted to track my wifes settlement visa application. The application was posted by courier from Udon Thani last Friday, so it has now been one week.Previous to today each time i have used the tracking system on the VAC website it keeps saying that no such tracking number exists, ok i can understand that the embassy will be very busy with many applications before aprils price rise, but now even the VAC website has dissapeared. does anybody have any info about what has happened?

They must be playing with it in India, It's not just you, I just referenced to it in another post and found it was not working.

Thanks for the reply lads. Ive just checked it again and now things seem to be back to normal, but there is still no information about my wifes visa application, or maybe they only give any information when a decision has been made, i dont know .ill just wait for another week and see what happens

Hi Scooty, there won't be the decision on there, it just literally tracks the location of the passort, it will say forwarded onto the embassy or passport back at VFC and ready to be picked up.

In order to track the application you will need the passport number and receipt number (THAC/.....). This will tell you where the passport is at any one time.

I do have a problem. when i enter the tracking number and my wifes passport number the website just says that there is no such number.The number that i have is a 10 didgit number. I have checked with my wife that it is the right number.Also my wife telephoned the courier in Udon Thani and he assures her that the application has been taken to Bangkok. I just have to hope that maybe they have been so busy that they havnt had time to enter the details onto the website yet.

It sounds like you've got the wrong number. It should be in the format thac/123456/1234/12. Phone up the application centre tomorrow and ask for their receipt number.

ok it looks like i made a mistake, i went back onto the website and where you enter the tracking number there is a choice of either passport number and reference number or passport number and airway bill number. i was using the wrong one, i should have used passport number and airway bill number, i didnt know what an airway bill was so i used the other. Anyway the answer that i got was-Passport with courier to be sent back to applicant. Case closed.

So it is obviouslly one of two things either my wife has got a visa or she hasnt been given a visa and has been turned down without even an interview.

Now im feeling very nervous and i will just have to wait untill her passport arrives back in Udon.

An 'airway bill', is just the form that you fill out for proof, tracking and identification purposes for any carrier service.
