Premchai granted bail, but must wear EM ankle bracelet

The Supreme Court has granted bail to Italian-Thai Development boss Premchai Karnasuta and two fellow defendants, but ordered them to wear electronic monitoring ankle bracelets and banned them from leaving the country.

 

The court set the Premchai’s, Yong Dodkrua’s and Thanee Thummat’s bail at one million baht each.

 

The fourth defendant, Mrs. Nathee Riamsaen, received 22 months, suspended for two years.

Well well well blow me down with a feather I was not expecting that. 

Money talks,  We should just empty all the jails and put ankle tags on them all.

Message is if your loaded you can circumvent any charges and punishments it was only 2 days ago he was going to definitely maybe do 16 months jail????

Let’s be realistic, with the position he holds and the associates he has could there be any other outcome. It is a common occurrence worldwide that the very rich and influential do not languish in goal for very long.

Obviously no shortage of people who are totally out of touch with legal process in their home countries. Bail pending appeal is not unusual in most Western countries.

I thought he just lost his appeal.... in-which his sentence was actually increased.

So is this bail while he waits to appeal against the last appeal?

Have they taken all his passports ? After thought would a bio-metric scanner be big enough to scan his face or could he just stand further away. just saying init.
