"Ripper" serial killer hunt: No arrest yet - he met latest victim on Facebook

Police in Nong Khai dismissed online claims that convicted serial killer Somkid Phumphuang had been captured in a room in the north eastern Thai province.

Rumors are flying about the man who served 14 years for rape and five murders before being let out to allegedly strike again.

A latest sighting put the man at Roi-Et bus station on his way to Yasothon.

Police are hunting for him over many provinces after the death of a 51 year old woman in Kranuan, Khon Kaen.

Sanook said he met her on Facebook.

A 50,000 baht reward is out for his capture.

The man has been called both "Jack the Ripper" after the famous London murderer and in a latest report "Kid the Ripper Muang Thai" by Sanook.
