I think you mean unfounded.  Honest mistake I’m sure

Absolutely, it was an 'honest mistake.' How I love that phrase! Haven't heard it since Thaksin's trial for hiding millions of baht's worth of his shares in his names of his driver and maid way back in  2001.

Don’t you already know the truth?

Why do you assume people don’t know who they’re voting for?

A lot of people don’t like Biden and support Trump asking for the investigation.

The same people that want him run out of office for this wanted him run out of office about the Stormy Daniels issue, yes?

To be honest,  when I found out he was a rich guy with a TV show that liked banging porn stars and didn’t want his wife to find out that was it for me.

I have NO RESPECT for any man that CHEATS on thier spouse.

a GOP dominated Senate openly saying they will not do the job they have been hired to do and will aquit Trump NO MATTER WHAT THE EVIDENCE SAYS.

Far as I know politicians are "hired" to do what the people that voted for them want. Ergo, if their electorate want Trump found not guilty that is what they are obliged to do.

Obviously, your "right thing" is not other's "right thing".

No amount of "Trump bad, Trump bad" is going to change his supporter's minds, especially when the "evidence" presented by the Dems is so selective.

They get elected to do what they think is best for their constituents, not 'what their constituents want'.

Actually, it's the contrary.

Indeed, she didn't send the articles yet to the Senate and the Evil Turtle over-confidently already announced that the GOP will close ranks (so far for impartiality) and that Trump will be swiftly acquited.

However - as could be expected - some new and explosive evidence has turned up in the mean time.  And that might trigger Nancy Pelosi to re-open the Congress hearings when Mitch does not agree on a trial with witnesses in the Senate.  As expected he is squirming now, and he might give in to the demand to have witnesses testify in the Senate trial after all for reason of damage control, because the longer he waits the more evidence will turn up proving Trumps guilt.

Obviously that doesn't matter to Trumps base, who would even support him when he flatly admitted it, but it's the evangelical and conservative GOP-voters that initially supported him that could decide he has gone one bridge too far (many have done so already).

I am hoping for a show-case Senate trial with Trump, Bolton, Biden and - why not - even the Whistleblower testifying, that would be some Fireworks!

The assumption here is that Bolton is <deleted> off with Trump and will say damning things. You have to remember that Bolton is one of the most rabid right wingers out there and even if he despises Trump, it isn't likely he wants to live in an America ruled by Liz Warren.

So if witnesses are called be prepared for a few surprises. The dems could be walking into an ambush.

Except the house.

Yes, but I think they’ve flipped their last card. They can fold or go all in.

There are plenty of new things that could come out to hurt Trump, but the risk for them is great. If the tape is played and all the witnesses come forward and Trump is cleared, they look like partisan fools, except to their base who will continue to call for impeachment. If the tape is played and all the witnesses come forward and prove Trump was trying to get help investigating Biden, it’s not that big a deal, many people already know, and don’t think it’s a big deal.

If everything goes perfectly and they get him out of office before the election, you’ve got Pense running as an incumbent and Trump campaigning for him.
