Good day

Back in LOS in a week and a bit and will be applying for my GF's second UK visitor visa..

I have one question.

Will we need to put in as much info in my sponsorship letter as the first application (which was successful)? I'm thinking more about explaining how we met and all the photo's we sent. As the first application was successful do we only need to details what's happened since the first visa was granted?

If I used the same photo's as I did for the first visit would that be a good or bad thing or wouldn't it make a difference? I have more photo's since then of her stay in the UK and a subsequent visit to LOS by me which I'll be using anyway but just not sure about using poto's from previous application.

Also, in the first application, as well as phone bills we had copies of emails. Now, we talk to each other on the phone every day and don't email each other. I'm with BT and my account is online and paperless. I don't have paper bills which would prove the calls made. All I can do is download the calls into a csv/ spreadsheet but if I print this off there's no BT logo's or anything..its just a blank page with call details. Any thoughts on if this is going to affect the application?

As ever...thanks!

Taz,

That you have a relationship has already been accepted, otherwise the first visa would not have been issued. Therefore, submit evidence that it is continuing as well as up to date wage slips/bank statements in order to demonstrate that your financial circumstances have not changed. You should provide evidence of recent contact and if all you have is the blank BT print-outs, then so be it. However, you should explain, as you have done here, the reasons why this is so in your covering letter.

In my experience, and also on uk embassy website, they dont useually grant another 6 month visa within the same year, so if her last visa was 6 months ago or more, all should be ok, hope all is ok for you, good luck, lickey..

Hi, would that be the case if a 6 month vv expired in October then another 6 month - this time spouse vv - will not be granted in December?

Thanks

Whether the visit visa is for your g/f or your wife the requirements you must fulfil are the same and she must still provide a reason to return to Thailand etc.

Trying to spend more than 6 months in any 12 in UK is likely to be refused. If you are aiming to get 2 or 3 one month spells in UK each year for your wife to fit in with your home leave, explain that and I feel she should be OK.

Does this mean that they would also be likely to refuse a full settlement visa application too if it was within 6 months of the applicant returning to Thailand?

The reason I ask is that my wife is currently with me in the UK on a spouse vv and we intend to apply for a settlement visa on returning to Thailand - (it is her first and only visit to the UK and the visa will still have 1.5 months left to run when she leaves the UK)

No..... There is no reason why your wife should not apply for a settlement visa as soon as she returns to Thailand.

Thanks for the replies guys, however. some of your answers have alarmed me quite a bit.

Malai's first vv expired end of March 2007. Does that mean she can't apply for another one for another 6 months??????

I'm panicking now!!!

Thanks

How long did she stay in the UK, Tariq?

Scouse.

Hi Scouse

She arrived October the 1st and she went home December the 2nd or 3rd. So she stayed a couple of days more than 2 months.

Providing only another short visit is intended, I don't foresee any difficulties.

If the visa holder stays the full six months and then soon after leaving applies for another visit visa, it can appear to the visa officer that the person is effectively residing in the UK. However, in your girlfriend's case, she did nothing other than stay a relatively brief period of time.

Hello

Just to let you know 2nd visitor visa successfully applied for - only took 3 days which was amazing!

Thanks to all who have given advice in particular to Scouse - the fountain of visa knowledge!

Malai will be joining me mid june when its a bit warmer !!

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced travel company to book a return flight from BKK to London?

Thanks
