Popular Post faraday
I'm halfway through Babel, the last of Innaritu's trilogy, & again I don't remember much from seeing it 14 years ago. Gael Garcia Bernal is one of many actors & also made a few more good movies, which I'll d/l & post the titles later It's fantastic! Edit: Tried to post a GG Bernal clip but YouTube disallowed it. Popular Post sanuk711
Kingdom of Silence....(2 October 2020 release; 101 min.) Showtime. **Blurb--Kingdom of Silence" is a documentary about the vicious murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi by the Saudi government. As the movie opens, we see some of the now infamous 2018 footage of the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, where Jamal Khashoggi walks in but never exits. this is the latest work from Oscar-nominated documentarian Rick Rowley ("The Dirty Wars"). (Seemingly omni-resent Alex Gibney executive-produced this.) Here Rowley looks back at the life and times of Jamal Khashoggi, once an ally of and spokesperson for the Saudi royal family. sanuk711
ARCHIVE........August 2020.....109 minutes Another AI movie.......not anywhere as good as Ex Machina, but along those lines.... Visuals are great shot in Hungry. Not a real memorable movie, one actor carries 80% of the film ---just a time filler if your into Sci Fi ------------------------------------------ Blurb--2038: George Almore is working on a true human-equivalent AI. His latest prototype is almost ready. This sensitive phase is also the riskiest. Especially as he has a goal that must be hidden at all costs: being reunited with his dead wife. Nemises
Honest Thief - in cinemas now. They call him the In-and-Out-Bandit because meticulous thief Tom Carter (Liam Neeson) has stolen $9 million from small-town banks while managing to keep his identity a secret. But after he falls in love with the bubbly Annie (Kate Walsh), Tom decides to make a fresh start by coming clean about his criminal past, only to be double-crossed by two ruthless FBI agents. Loved it. Never a dull moment. Has everything: interesting plot, action, crime, romance, drama, good cops, bad cops, a suitable finale...and a cute pet dog ???? Popular Post Will27
Got this one from RARBG and enjoyed it. Belfast to Baghdad When a group of painters and decorators from Northern Ireland arrived in Baghdad 30 years ago to paint Saddam Hussein’s palace, they found themselves at the centre of an international crisis. Held as human shields it was five months before they managed to get home. Now they come together to share their story for the first time. Using incredible footage shot at the time, photos and mementoes from their trip, and first hand testimony from the men and their families, we see a group of men from Northern Ireland living at the centre of one of the world’s most recent international crises - the Gulf War - Operation Desert Shield. As 35 nations, led by the United States, took a stand against Saddam Hussein and Iraq, these men from Banbridge, Craigavon, Lurgan and Portadown were living on their nerves in the centre of Baghdad. Cut off from their families, their only thoughts were of getting home. Somehow. This extraordinary film tells their story - what they were doing out there, what happened to them, and eventually how they managed to get home. 2
