Best version of Gentle on my Mind is by Dean Martin. Man, that guy is so relaxed:-

Its a guitar song, not a crooner.song.

Amore is good though

Whatever it is I think he does a great job, I just love the subtle brass section in the background.

This is a Dutch band ,they kind of copied the music Status Quo made and the Quo did not like it.

The opening song must have been sample by Apollo 404 for their 90's song 'Stop the Rock' I knew the song 'Visions of Matchstick Men'  but I never looked into the band. One day I guess youtubin' I ran across Status Quo's 'In the Army' song (1986 I guess) and was amazed how I could have missed this song growing up. Maybe it was too Euro to be a hit in the US.

Wow, I've never heard this song. Awesome little tune. I see this covered by a lot of bands in the past on youtube. What band was Kevin Ayers in back when this came out?

I think the crooner make it memorable.

Anyone remember what they were doing in 68 when this song came out,

I stole my mothers car, what a rush. [only for the weekend]

Love Kate Bush

Ha Ha talahdnut- stole your mother's car. I've got a story about 'borrowing' a rich man's car, but I would never have had the gall to liberate mother's car. She would have run me over, and quite right too,
