Interesting tune.  Never heard of If before but that's why I come here.  To hear new-for-me old music.  :jap:

Nothin' quite like Elmore James doing Dust My Broom.  Recorded in '51.  Elmore was a huge influence on early 60's British blues.  No small wonder.

Gotta devote some space for Elmore.  The Sky Is Cryin' recorded in '59.

The Sky Is Crying performed by the Yardbirds with Eric Clapton in July, '64.  Off of their Live! Blueswailing July '64 LP.

And the Allman Bros. version off of their At The Fillmore East Live, recorded March 1971.

John Mayall and the Blues Breakers version off of their '67 Crusade LP.  With a line-up of:

John Mayall – vocals, organ, piano, harmonica, bottleneck guitar

Mick Taylor – lead guitar

John McVie – bass guitar

Keef Hartley – drums

Chris Mercer – tenor saxophone

Rip Kant – baritone saxophone

Peter Green - lead guitar (tracks 13-20)

Aynsley Dunbar - drums (tracks 13-18)

Mick Fleetwood - drums (tracks 19-20)

Paul Williams - bass guitar (track 21)

Paul Schaeffer

Geezus, the frickin' talent assembled in one place!

Elmore James with Standing At The Crossroads recorded in '65.

Elmore James with Shake Your Moneymaker recorded in '62.

Fleetwood Mac's version of Shake Your Moneymaker off of their '68 self-titled LP.

And the Paul Butterfield Blues Band version off of their '65 eponymous debut.

Fleetwood Mac performing Oh Well live at The Boston Tea Party 5~7 Feb. '70.

Taj Mahal with Statesboro Blues off of his '68 self-titled LP.

The Allman Brothers Band's version from The Fillmore East Live LP recorded in '71.

Koko Taylor with That's Why I'm Crying off of her '75 I Got What It Takes LP.

Traffic performing Dear Mr. Fantasy live off of their Traffic Live In Santa Monica '72 LP.

Van Morrisson & Them with the '64 single Baby Please Don't Go.

Nothing beats Ted Nugent with the Amboy Dukes' version recorded in '67.

No time to catch up with Tippers' output. There's no stopping the man until he gets recalled to work, wherever that is. Just hope it's not an oil well somewhere in the Middle East.

He'd be better off going to the pits of the UK, Humberside. At least death would be slow there.

What's at stake here is nothing less than the status of this remaining a pinned thread.  And then there's the competition factor with that other music thread.  This is all about death and pride!!

"Do not go gentle into that good night."

Queen proclaiming about the posters on this thread, We Are The Champions!!  Sing it loud, sing it proud!!  Off of their '77 News Of The World LP.

BTW, where the F is everyone?  Granted we've picked up a few new antiquated souls; Oliver Holzerfilled, xylophone & zyphodb.  I see tutsi's shadow flickerin' now and again.  Morrobay is still kickin' (with a noticeable limp).  Andrew may as well be six feet under.  Nor does balo appear even as his ghost.  Faraday seems to be nearer his last gasp.  What the heck has happened to our little commune?

Dead Flowers all!

As to myself, I may yet die at 23.  Got a long way to go . . .

The days of . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Hoppin' and a-boppin' . . .

Rockin' and a-rollin' . . .

Sockin' and a-hoppin' . . .

And lots of FREEEE sex!!!

King Crimson with Moonchild (including The Dream and The Illusion) off of their '69 debut, In The Court Of The Crimson King.

The Foggy Notions ‎with their '66 hit Need A Little Lovin'.

I'm Mad Again by The Animals off of their '64 eponymous debut.

James Brown with I'll Go Crazy off of his '60 Think! LP.
