I'm trying to figure which type of insurance would be best for my particular situation, and I would appreciate any advice or insight from the experienced members here.

The background details:

  • I'm early 50s, and currently live in Thailand on a Non-O.  The Cigna expat health insurance I've had for the last few years expires this week, but it's expensive and their customer service is horrible, so I'm ready to move on.
  • I plan extend my visa in March and will be in Thailand until May and then will go to Europe for approximately two months.
  • I'll then return to Thailand for a month or two before taking a job abroad that will provide health insurance.

I was thinking about taking out yearly PA insurance for my time in Thailand and then travel insurance for while I'm in Europe.  I know this won't give me proper health insurance (cancer, heart attack, etc...) but fingers crossed, that won't be an issue during the next 9-10 months.  My main concern is about coverage related to my "living situation".  I don't want an insurance company coming to me after an accident to say, "Sorry, you're not covered because of your visa status/where you live most of the year" or something like that.

I'm happy to provide more details as needed.  Thanks in advance for your assistance.  ????
