Came across this as I have to do a crossing this week and then extend at Cm Immig then head back home in 60 days. Flew into Bkk and got my 30 stamp and extended that at Cm (smooth process btw now), anyhoo, seems they have extended hours @ MS (makes sense) as I was always chasing the clock to do a run in one day-5 hr bus up--boogie across bridge dodging the panhandlers-hand over a crisp $10 usd and race back trying to catch last bus back to Cm--5 hrs back ????

 

So may take my time getting there and stay overnight in MS or CR..instead of sitting in a bus for 10 hrs....anyone been up there lately to verify?

 

In short are they OPEN DAILY until 9pm? Since I'd likely arrive on a sunday evening in Mae Sai as its last date on my passport

 

Should I be carrying the 20k? cash....(hate carrying this kind of cash in pocket) Are they still taking the $10 usd?  Any changes?

 

Thanks for any info--anybody need cheap dvds- fake tobacco/booze?, that wood dust face powder??

Not sure on the times but I have never carried the 20k and never been asked (been crossing here on and off for almost 20 years). The last time I went up in November for a shopping trip they wouldn't take the $10 and insisted on the 500 Thb.

Yes open till 9pm daily

I guess I should have added $10 is usually fine, typically they don't ask about 20K in cash.

Went yesterday ann they did not ask about 20K or financials.
