Hi

Please can anyone tell me if I can substitute Atorvastatin 20mg for Bestatin.If this is possible would Bestatin 20mg be the equivalent dosage or would I need a lower or higher Mg dose to achieve the same results of the Atorvastatin 20mg.

Cannot see any comparison on the net between these two,so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it not possible to discuss the switch with your doctor?

As said not only the medication is different but side effects can also be so should be done in a doctor setting.  For me Bestatin caused severe leg cramps at night but have none using Lipitor.  As have insurance worth paying the price but if had to pay full cost maybe not.

I don’t know how much Lipitor is but I pay 22.7 thb for each tablet of Atorvasatin from the local hospital...

My hospital Lipitor 20mg is 79 baht each (high but nothing like cancer drug which is 3,000 baht each).  Drugs are marked up a lot in private hospitals but then again some drugs are high priced anywhere.
