AIS Balance goes down without making a call or SMS. Is this usual or a Ripp off?

Do you have mobile data enabled?

Even without knowing there might be apps that use internet.

Switch mobile data off at the phone and check whether the drain stops.

 

Do you receive unwanted SMS (maybe in Thai language)?

 

Install the MyAIS app and check the usage history. It is very detailed.

 

I remember having a similar issue with them a couple years back - some <deleted>ty service (an SMS-based promotion, I think, forgot the details) was activated without me noticing and it ate a small chunk of the balance every week.

Known, and long-running "scam".

 

Switch off the <deleted> using *137call then press 2 to switch them all off. You'll get a confirmation SMS within the hour.

Better to choose the English option(if there is one) in order to listen to the four options offered.

Though one can use the web interface or application to cancel the junk SMS.

yes there is a option for English. AIS has excellent customer service call 1175 and they speak perfect English.

be calm and ask for all junk SMS to stop and all texts to be in English. Ask if you can get your money back.

I have have been with AIS for 6 years and once you get your texts in English and stop the junk SMS it is great.
