mogandave
Hello, I’m taking my 16 year old son the the US go a month. He has both Thai and U.S. passports. Will I have any difficulty getting him checked-in, through immigration and on the aircraft without his mother? What about leaving the U.S. or during transfers? Thanks
featography
CYA, as in cover your ass. Carry a note signed by mother permitting minor child to accompany you. I.d also have a copy of mothers passport page.
Ajvat37
Yeah I would bring a letter from mom, and copies of her ID and house book as well as your sons house book all signed by mom just to be safe. I just flew with my half Thai baby and her mother but at immigration leaving Thailand mom went in a different line and didn’t wait for me, she was already around the corner when I got to the IO and they started to question me about it before I finally saw mom come back looking for us. AgMech Cowboy
@mogandaveI took my 14 yo son to the US 3 yrs ago and he flew solo when he was 15. No issue, but he does have my surname. There was never a question. We flew to LA and then Denver on United. The next year he flew Qatar Air to Houston. AgMech Cowboy
Show his US passport to check-in. Thai passport to exit and enter Thai immigration. US PP to enter USA. Check-in in USA coming to Thailand, use Thai passport; although, that really doesn't matter.
