PHUKET:-- The Deputy Director-General of the national Department of Disease Control (DDC) Dr Kajohnsak Kaewjarus, flew to Phuket from Bangkok today only to refuse to confirm or deny whether a Chinese tourist in Phuket had contracted the COVID-19 coronavirus as confirmed by a report issued by the DDC last month.

Dr Kajohnsak today (Mar 4) instead would only say that the information in the report was unreliable. He would not elaborate on which parts of the report were considered accurate.

The report had been uploaded online by the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority, but was later pulled down. Copies of the report posted online since the beginning of the week have since gone viral on Thai social media.

"Dr Kajohnsak today (Mar 4) instead would only say that the information in the report was unreliable. He would not elaborate on which parts of the report were considered accurate".

"As for the leaked “pink” report for Feb 12, the “unreliable” report includes all the exact same information as featured in the final “blue” report for Feb 12 – except that the “blue” report features no information at all about any of the patients in Thailand who have tested positive for the virus".

<<Big sigh>> ....thanks for the timely update Dr.

Many posters on TV are over 60 and have pre existing medical conditions. Is it OK if we worry?

I am one of. Worry? Better to make contingency plans than to simply worry. Wake up to the fact that Corvid-19 is not a singular community infection of equal risk to those with pre-existing health issues old or young. Only more specific to those.

Influenza  variants,  viral pneumonia, bacterial pneumonia all circulate within communities.

The same precautions should be applied as  risk is equal. Do/have  people taken as a matter of precaution?

The  reality is  that in the  event of suffering a respiratory illness that causes distress then the sufferer  should seek intervention especially if  compromised  with underlying  health  conditions. Despite previously having any  precautionary vaccinations for various things it is no guarantee, although assistive.

Keep it in perspective.

In terms of  Health systems  there is more concern as to the  impact  of "yet another" infectious disease to cope with rather than any really significant mortality rate overall.

A further reality is that due to the induced awareness that although it will/is exacerbating demand on health resources that in spite of Corvid-19 the mortality  rate from influenza etc will be reduced as a  consequence due to patient presentation for intervention.

In my own humble opinion, the fact that the UK now has twice the amount of virus as Thailand and has maybe 80% less Chinese, Korean and Iranian tourists, that the virus is exploding more in Europe (thinking of Italy) has considerably less people working in hotspots, speaks volumes of a severe cover up

Some want to believe the warm weather help but the reality is that we have no idea yet.

Declines  to  confirm. Doubts? Corona Virus. Which  one? Common cold?

Let reality reign ! Not  Media  hype !

Corvid-19 is  amongst  us...undeniable.....highest risk is to  your  elderly . Not  the  stroppy younger or  small children if reasonable  self  care is taken.

Worry as  much  if  not  more  about the myriad of other things  that can infect and  destroy the body instead of  the infectious  paranoia that is  devouring  your  minds!

Right on, why should we give a toss about the elderly or any of the other at risk groups? We are far superior to those second rate types. As long as we are okay there is no need to  even try to stop the spread of this purifying virus. It's like climate change - why worry? I'll be dead before it affects me much - leave it for our kids to sort it. Anyway, they are obviously both just conspiracies designed to enrich the real beings in power who are all aliens.

Cases in Isaan have been reported by hospital staff at two different hospitals. These cases, four that I know of, have not been added to the countrywide tally. I suspect that these four cases are only a small number of cases not being reported. The government could better serve the public with accurate information.

Indeed, what they are doing in Isaan amounts to acknowledging an unexpected uptick in H1N1 and “as we have identified it as H1N1 we don’t need to test for Corona”.

This within the last 2 days for 4 people close to me in Korat.

This is how a police state wary of destroying tourism might go about covering things up.

Or it could just be little outbreaks of H1N1. How would one really know in Thailand?

Im sure many guys on TVF dotted around the country will have info about different cases as we know we cant post it here in fear of being arrested and the amount of tourist that come and go in Phuket do they mean not one case has been found?

Ssssure. The farang has invaluable first hand facts that could shake the nation  but too scared to post it so instead they post hyperbolic dribble gossip conspiracy theories and the usual "thai officials are incompetent idiots" blablabla kind of stuff. Mass hysteria.
