BANGKOK (Reuters) - The Thai government on Thursday announces new compulsory quarantine measure for arrivals from four countries and two territories in a bid to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The next Full Moon Party, scheduled for March 8, has been cancelled. The memo from the Mayor of Koh Phangan says that the hugely popular monthly party has been cancelled due to fears associated with the Covid-19 virus. The memo also says that there will no further monthly parties until fears over the outbreak pass.

(Reuters) - The Thai MotoGP round that was called off due to the coronavirus outbreak has been rescheduled for Oct. 4 with series organisers hoping on Thursday to complete as many races as possible in 2020 even if the calendar has to extend late into December.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Wuhan, the epicenter of China's coronavirus epidemic, will likely see new infections drop to zero by the end of this month, an expert with the country's top panel on battling the illness said on Thursday, even as the city reported a quicker rise in new confirmed cases.

Thai woman from S Korea fails to go into self-quarantine, visits tourist places instead

A Mae Kued Luang rescue staffer complained to Mae Sot General hospital’s Covid-19 outbreak surveillance centre today (March 6) that a woman, 35, who returned from South Korea and was living with her children in Maekasa sub-district was not undergoing a 14-day self-quarantine according to a Public Health ministry order.

Thai media reported that Chiang Mai was in turmoil after a Thai woman went online to boast that as soon as she got off the plane from South Korea she went out on the town.
