Am in the process of doing my wife's visa. We just submitted the I-130 and both G-325a's at the USCIS across fromt the U.S. Consulate. I got to talking with somebody there about the "affidavate of support" that I will have to do in connection with the I-129f ( I think that is it) for her K3 visa. He said, from a past experience he had, that if you can't show that you make a lot of money, have a lot of it in the bank, or own a lot of property (all of it in the U.S.) then I will have a snowball's chance in heck to get her a visa. With that thought, I am thinking of heading back to the states to get a real job so I can at least show that I some real money coming in and can show it on the support form. Any thoughts or comments on this? Is he right? I think he might be and my wife and I might be screwed if I can't show governement that I can support her (to U.S. standards).

Here's the description of the regs concerning the I-134. You will be required to show proof of income such as a letter from your employer stating your position and salary and a letter from your bank or financial institution stating the amt. of money you currently have on deposit. After all this, the AoS must be notarized before it's submitted. If you do not have the required income, you can have a co-sponsor do the I-134.
