Image: AoT Phuket PHUKET: In a huge downshift in tracking potential COVID cases entering the country, the Airports of Thailand management team operating Phuket International Airport (AoT Phuket) has posted an oblige formal notice only announcing that arrivals from the six declared risk areas China, South Korea, Macau, Hong Kong, Italy and Iran must complete the “T.8” form declaring their travel history any health issues experienced in the past 14 days, and present a medical certificate attesting that they are not infected with the virus. Popular Post smedly
not so sensible Of note, Phuket International Airport General Manager Thanee Chuangchoo yesterday told The Phuket News that the medical certificate requirement would apply to all travellers only transiting through any of the six risk areas. Asked how that was possible while the passengers were in transit, Mr Thanee replied, “That is the passenger’s responsibility. My responsibility is to protect against the spread of the virus.”
CRUNCHER
It says the certificate must be issued by a hospital (rather than a private doctor??). In Hong Kong and Macau that would be problematic. They are far too busy for that nonsense.

Popular Post spidermike007
It is impossible to get that medical certificate in the US. Had to cancel the trip. I was scheduled to fly to LA next week. Can't get the health letter Thailand requires stating I am corona negative. Talked to my friend, who is a top pulmonogist at Cedars Sinai Hospital. He said NO test kits are available. The hospital has been trying to get them for weeks. And nobody will write the letter because of the incubation period. Too much liability. So, Thailand is asking for a health letter that cannot be gotten. Perhaps some other countries will issue a simple letter, with the results of the test. But, I was facing likely quarantine on return. Not gonna risk that. Almost 400 new cases in US overnight in US, and it is going up exponentially. Thailand added Spain to the list with 4,000 cases, and the US will be there by next week. And someone is lying about the kits.

If anything they'd have more chance of picking up the virus by visiting such a clinic.

If only it were that easy. Even the US has now been added to the top list, which is reasonable, since they have had 900 new cases in the past 48 hours, and are up to 60 fatalities. With no test kits in sight. Since the letter requires an actual Coronavirus test result, it is unlikely that they would accept any old letter.
